Santa Monica Pier
Go for a picturesque walk at at the Santa Monica Pier & Santa Monica State Beach.
The performance along Santa Monica Pier has certainly created a huge crowd. Street performers have to obtain a permit from the city hall which costs $37 with photo ID.
There were rows of white and red painted wooden crosses on the beach, set up by volunteers with Veterans of Peace, to honor American servicemen and women who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each red cross represents 10 lost American soldiers, while each white one stands for one.

Shopping at Third Street Promenade
We walk to Third Street Promenade located at downtown of Santa Monica after taking some pictures at The Pier. Back in the days, Los Angeles is filled with indoor shopping malls until one day Victor Gruen suggested an open air shopping street. In 1963, Santa Monica decided to close Third Street car access and turn it into an open-air pedestrian mall.

CULVER CITY
We headed to Culver City for dinner after the self-guided tour at The Getty Villa. It takes around 20 minutes by car to get to Hatchet Hall.
Hatchet Hall
Coolhaus
This ice cream store is so good that we came here twice! It is located in Culver City as well so that's perfect for us to grab some dessert after the meal.
