Hatchet Hall: Stylish Wood Fire Cookery in Culver City

We were looking for a place with good cocktails and steak for dinner around Culver City. Strolling on Yelp as usual and found the Hatchet Hall.

Hatchet Hall is known for its rustic cooking that uses open fire techniques to cook its meat. There is an open patio at the front of the restaurant but it was too cold for us to dine in there. Tucked away in the rear of Hatchet Hall is the Old Man Bar with a curved dining counter where you will find a good selections of cocktails and wines.

Service here is top-notch, food was amazing and the cocktails was so good. The mixologist had a conversation with us to find out what is our preference for drinks before taking our order.

The steak is cooked with traditional American open fire techniques and simply tastes better when cooked over a stove. Beautiful dark crust on the outside and perfect medium rare on the inside. The smell of wood combined with the fat creates a charred smell and intense flavor.
