Mouthwatering Burgers In LA

Burgers have become a culinary icon in the United States as a quintessential American food. An exceptional burger is more than just the bun, meat and cheese. It's about having the perfect combination of various components, textures and flavors all in one bite. A juicy and flavorsome meat patty, the softness of the bun, the types of cheese, fresh vegetables for the extra crunch and texture complimented with sauces that creates the great depth of flavor.

Burgers is his all time favorite meal and he has been so excited about trying different burgers for this trip. These are some of the burgers we tried in Los Angeles:

  1. In-N-Out Burger - Multiple locations
  2. Hiho Burger - Downtown Santa Monica
  3. Johnny Rockets - Hollywood & Highland. Multiple locations

IN-N-OUT BURGER

In-N-Out Burger is one of the biggest burger empire in the US founded by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, in 1948. Until today, the company has remained privately owned and refused franchise in order to maintain control over its food quality and its overall image.

The iconic In-N-Out logo in red and yellow symbolize "The arrow points to pride" and "We all work under the same arrow."

Double-Double

The recipes for its burgers, fries and 'secret sauce' have remain unchanged for more than 70 years. The double-double comes with two beef patties, two cheese slices, freshly sliced onions, crisp lettuce, tomato, secret sauce on toasted buns.

French Fries

Hand-cut potatoes which is pretty standard, you can opt for Cheese Fries.

HIHO BURGER

We went to HiHo Burger located at Downtown Santa Monica since he was craving for burger as usual. After 15 years of cooking burgers at home, Jerry Greenberg (also owns Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa, Nozawa Bar & Uovo) and his friends decided its time to open a brick-and-mortar shop in 2013.

HiHo Double Cheeseburger

They serve double-decker cheeseburgers with 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef stacked with fresh lettuce, house-made pickles, ketchup, mustard and caramelized onion jam on the house-made bread. According to him, the burger is not bad but he wouldn't return for this.

JOHNNY ROCKETS

After exploring The Urban Light and TCL Chinese Theater, we had Johnny Rockets for dinner at Hollywood & Highland. Hollywood & Highland is a shopping center right next to TCL Chinese Theater.

Johnny Rockets was founded in 1986 by Ronn Teitelbaum at the age of 46. He have no experience in the restaurant business yet it has always been his dream to own a 1940s-style diner.

Johnny Rockets expanded internationally so it is pretty common to us since we have tried them before in Indonesia and Malaysia. Turns out the food tastes so much better here and we will definitely come back again.

Bacon Cheddar

Thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, Wisconsin Cheddar cheese, crispy leaf lettuce, fresh tomato, sliced onion & special sauce.

Smoke House

Thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, crispy sourdough onion rings, Wisconsin Cheddar cheese & special recipe Smoke House Ranch.

Tots & Fries

We ordered tots & fries on the side. These freshly fried grated potato tots is the bomb - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
