Singapore Airlines: Premium Economy SG - LAX

This is the one of the most exciting trip for us as we will be spending Christmas & New Years in the US. Since it is a long haul flight, we decided to take Singapore Airlines because they offer non-stop flight directly from Singapore and they are one of the best airlines in the region.

ECONOMY

We travelled from Jakarta - Singapore (1,5 hours flight) in economy class, and for our next leg Singapore - LAX (15 hours flight) will be in premium economy class.

Singapore Food Street - Terminal 3 at Level 3

We transit in Singapore before our next flight to Los Angeles just for the FOOD - a quick stop over to satisfy my food cravings and home sick!

PREMIUM ECONOMY

The flight from Singapore - Los Angeles, and the return flight was in premium economy. We truly enjoyed the experience without even noticing its an 15 hours flight.
  • More spacious with mostly 2-4-2 seats & 1-4-1 seats for the last three rows.
  • The 1 person seat comes with a personal storage box on the side.
  • All seats are equipped with adjustable leg rests and foot rest.
  • Noise-cancelling headphones
  • Personal reading lamp & 2 USB ports
  • Pre-book your meal via 'Book the Cook'

BOOK THE COOK

You have the privilege to pre-order your food prior departure via the app. There are a wide varieties of menu to choose from, however you can also opt for the in-flight menu if you wish to. So far the menu we've chosen seems far more interesting than the in-flight menu.

Oven-Roasted Chicken Breast
Oven-roasted corn fed chicken breast, tarragon jus & creamy polenta, served with seasonal vegetables

Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken
Malay-style steamed coconut rice with fried chicken, omelette and grilled fish cake, served with sambal & ikan bilis with peanuts

- The overall dish is good especially the grilled fish cake, however we did find the fried chicken a lil dry.

Rosemary Beef Brisket
Braised beef brisket with rosemary sauce, sauteed vegetable medley & mashed potatoes

- This is very delicious, the beef brisket taste really tender and we will definitely order this again!

Coconut & Chia Pudding
Vanilla-scented white chia seeds soaked in creamy coconut milk with fresh strawberries steeped in hibiscus flower tea

- A light meal that was surprisingly tasty but not very filling. This is more of a snack for us than main meal.

Grilled Chicken with Melted Cheese & Roast Potatoes

Braised Beef Short Ribs
Braised beef short ribs with red wine, served with fondant fingerling potatoes & buttered seasonal vegetables.

Lamb Biryani
Lamb biryani with atchara (pickles), fried onion, cashew & sultanas.

- I love this dish - Rice was flavorsome and the lamb was perfectly cooked with a fragrant blend of spices.

Wild Mushrooms Stuffed Chicken
Wild mushrooms stuffed chicken roll with chicken jus, roasted root vegetables & creamy mashed potatoes

- Another dish that we will order again
