ELITE RESTAURANT
It's Dim Sum Time at Elite Restaurant! The Elite Restaurant is located at Monterey Park known as "Little Taipei" or "The Chinese Beverly Hills". All of the food were delicious but the only thing missing is they do not serve chili oil. Some of the dishes we ordered:
- Bean Curd Wrap with Supreme Soup
- Macau Egg Custard - Favorite*
- Dry Scallops Dumpling in Supreme Soup Stock - Favorite*
- Crystal Shrimp Har Gow
- Pork Shui-Mai
BOILING POINT
A highly recommended restaurant by our friends for its specialty individual hot pot with 10 choices to choose from. Each portion comes with pre-selected mixture of vegetables and meat, along with a bowl of rice and tea. You can also choose the level of spiciness based on personal preference.
Beef Hot Soup
The Beef Hot Soup comes with sliced beef, napa, vermicelli, enoki mushroom, tomato, firm tofu, imitation crab stick, corn, tempura, pork meat ball, fish cake, fried tofu skin, green onion and cilantro. We personally prefer the beef hot soup than the milk cream curry.
Milk Cream Curry Hot Soup
The Milk Cream Curry Hot Soup comes with sliced pork, napa, vermicelli, enoki mushroom, imitation crab stick, fish ball, fried tofu skin, corn, tempura, potato, chinese string bean and sea salt cream.
PA-ORD NOODLE
Pa-Ord Noodle is located at Sunset Boulevard, the heart of Thai town where you will find plenty of Thai restaurants. They have another branch at Hollywood Boulevard which is nearby this location. We came here as recommended by a friend for the best crispy pork in town. Unfortunately it was sold out so we tried Pad thai & Stir fry pork with vegetables instead. These two dishes are alright nothing too special for us.
TAMAEN JAPANESE BBQ
We stumbled upon a Japanese BBQ near our Airbnb so we checked the review on Yelp and it seems pretty good. BBQ is always a good idea during winter so here we are. The difference between Japanese BBQ and Korean BBQ is the side dishes, marinade and the dipping sauces. We like them both it feels like I'm in Japan again.
We ordered the High quality Short Rib, High quality cube cut tongue and Cube cut ribeye. This place is highly recommended because the food are really good despite the small portion.
