Go for the Crunchy French Toast at Blu Jam Cafe!
PERSHING SQUARE
Pershing Square is a public park with an underground parking garage located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. There are usually community events happening here but we only came her for the parking as you know it is so hard to find a parking in LA. We also did some shopping around here.
GRAND CENTRAL MARKET
When visiting Downtown LA, you can never miss a trip to the iconic Grand Central Market. The European-style food hall has been operating since 1917, and today it is one of the most popular landmark influx with tourists.
Wexler's Deli
The line was too long at Eggslut, so we went to Wexler's Deli to grab some snack. It is a classic Jewish deli that serve classic bagel sandwiches with different fillings.
ANGEL'S FLIGHT RAILWAY
After exploring Grand Central Market, we walked across the road to check out the Angel's Flight Railway. It's an incline funicular railway built on the hillside of Bunker Hill in Downtown LA.
One of Downtown LA's most iconic landmarks since 1901 that takes passengers on a short ride between Hill Street (Grand Central Market) & Grand Avenue (California Plaza Watercourt).
BRADBURY BUILDING
Another architectural landmark in downtown Los Angeles built in 1893 that is one of Los Angele's unique treasures.
The five-story building with two hydraulic-powered open-cage elevators, marble stairs, geometrically patterned stairways, wrought-iron railings imported from France wind their way up to glass-block roof is the city's oldest landmark building. One of the most popular film taken here was the Blade Runner.
BROADWAY
THE BROAD
Once you reach the top at the California Plaza, it takes around 3 minutes to walk your way to The Broad on Grand Avenue. The Broad is a contemporary art museum home to its world-renowned collection of contemporary art founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad. One of the notable installations that you've seen viral on Instagram is Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room - The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away (2013).
Dubbed "the veil and the vault", the unique facade that looks like a white honeycomb totally caught our attention! The facade is made up of 2500 glass-fiver-reinforced concrete (GFRC) panels & 650 tones of steel lifts that span across the block-long gallery; it provides filtered natural daylight in the building.
WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL
A 2 minutes walk will bring you to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, an internationally recognized architectural landmark designed by the award winning architect Frank Gehry. It is one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world. The building's exterior was designed with stainless steel given a matte finish, it's pretty cool looking at the design.
You can spot the Walt Disney Concert Hall in some of the movie scenes:
- Ellen DeGeneres co-hosting for American idol during the special week of Idol Gives Back.
- The Iron Man for a party for Stark Industries.
- The finale of the 2008 movie Get Smart
- The 2015 fil Furious 7 during a chase
CITADEL OUTLETS
Citadel Outlets is near Downtown LA if you would love to do some shopping.
