How did Wong Mei Kee all started?

On every Mother's Day, Robert Wong's mother would cook her specialty dish - Roast Pork. It is such an unforgettable taste that inspired him to learn how to cook this dish. Since then, it spark his passion for cooking and today his restaurant has been operating for more than 30 years.


We reached here at 12.20 PM and the restaurant is already fully seated. The best is to be here before 12 PM, you will be surprised the restaurant gets full even by 11.30 AM. 

 
 

Order System here is pretty unique. First, you grab a seat and wait until 12.30 PM then you will see the boss bring out the Roast Pork hang it next to the fan. Then the lady will come to your table to take your order.  *It's amazing how she remember customer/ table in accordance!*

 

You can see how passionate is him with his food preparing the golden ratio of roast pork (any excess meat and fats will be removed) for each table.

The boss is very active in charity and he strongly believes in giving back to the society.


While waiting for your food/ order to be taken, free flow soup is available for self service placed at the back of the restaurant.
   
 

When our crispy pork belly is served, there is only silence at the table except the soft crunching sounds biting into the crispy skin ending with a smile. With just the perfect ratio of succulent lean meat and luscious fat, it melts in my mouth and that is the best lunch we savor.
