Budapest Ruin Bars have evolved into an attraction depicted as their own culture. Each Ruin Bars have its own character with a hip and artsy vibe.

Csendes translating as "quiet" has lives up to its name. A laidback cafe that transforms into a bar in the evening. You will find a bike and destroyed mannequins nailed to the graffiti laden walls, covered in surreal compilation of vintage objects and mismatched furniture.

πŸ“ Arany Janos utca 15., district V., Basilica neighborhood

If you are a coffee lover, you must drop by Espresso Embassy in Budapest downtown, a short walk from the picturesque Danube Promenade. It was such a coincidence that we were walking past, and the aroma of the coffee beans just lure us in. Little did I know, this coffee shop is known as Budapest's No.1 Specialty Coffee Shop run by Tibor Varady (Barista champion, 3rd on Hungarian Aeropress Championship).

The vaulted, cellar-like interior is dotted with interesting details, black industrial style lighting, natural wood furnishing and a small terrace on the busy Arany J.street. The staff is extremely friendly and would tell you about the origins of the coffee beans and the preparation methods of your coffee.

The cheese (Cheddar, Emmental, Camembert) is dipped with their own secret recipe of special dipping crumbs then deep fried until golden crunch. Held together in a freshly baked ciabatta bun and their own special sauces.

You will also find Paneer in Street Food Karavan.

The word "Sao" means bird twitter, a nod to the communal Vietnamese custom of keeping birds as house pets. Hence, the restaurant name refers to a homely environment and togetherness. You will see bamboo bird cages hanging from the ceiling in the restaurant. This Vietnamese restaurant run by three close friends serves authentic Vietnamese food right in the centre of Budapest's party district.

Szimpla Kert

πŸ•’Mon - Sat: 12 PM - 4 AM / Sun: 9 AM - 5 PM
πŸ“ Kazinczy utca. 14, 1075 Budapest

Szimpla Kert started when Abel Zsendovits and his friends decided to gamble on a condemned building complex on Kazinczy street to start a small experiment. The aim is to set up a bar in an abandoned building offering affordable drinks for the young and creative crowd in Budapest.

The first thing that comes up in mind is "cool', a relaxing atmosphere with Bohemian feel furnished with quirky furniture. Today, it has become one of the world's most famous bars in Budapest.
